Bob Morrison Prize for Photography and Videography
Tuesday, June 15, 2010 | Comments (0)
Bob Morrison never left home without a camera. He knew that tomorrow could bring the shot of a lifetime, and he always wanted to be prepared to capture it if he could.
Bob’s extraordinary photographs were often showcased in art shows, schools and businesses throughout Falls Church City. From athletic events to city festivals, Bob could often be seen capturing the spirit of The Little City, and he encouraged others to do the same with a still camera, or via video by becoming involved with Falls Church City Television. He was also an avid wildlife photographer, and often donated his time to photograph charitable events, such as the DC Central Kitchen’s annual Food Fight.
Falls Church City lost a great talent when Bob passed away in the summer of 2009. In his memory, the Falls Church Cable Access Board, of which Bob was a longtime member, established the Bob Morrison Prize. By encouraging young artists to capture Falls Church City’s golden moments, we ensure Bob’s legacy continues for generations to come.
In memory of longtime Cable Access Board Member Bob Morrison, the Falls Church Cable Access Board would like to award two $250 annual student prizes.
